Position Summary
The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1975, is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Center’s mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training, and outreach.
The Cancer Care Quality Training Program invites applications post-doctoral training to clinician and non-clinician scientists who wish to work in multidisciplinary research teams to improve cancer care quality across the cancer care continuum.
This T32 funded position (FICA exempt) is focused on cancer care quality and cancer health disparities research with an emphasis on delivering behavioral interventions to improve cancer treatment and survivorship care among those affected by cancer. The Trainee will work closely with an assigned primary mentor to deliver and evaluate physical activity and supportive care interventions to cancer survivors. Career development activities will include training in cancer health disparities, implementation science and behavioral science.
The selected candidate will also be eligible for Supplementation of Stipends, Compensation, and Other Income consistent with NIH Grants Policy 11.2.10. Under no circumstances will the conditions of stipend supplementation or the services provided for compensation interfere with, detract from, or prolong the fellow’s approved training program. Supplemental effort will be in the assessment of community health needs and assets across North Carolina, including use of the linked data systems and primary data collection in the form of surveys and interviews of community members, is sponsored by the University Cancer Research Fund, and subject to FICA.
