Postdoctoral Fellowship Positions in Cell Death/ Apoptosis Research, Translational Medicine and Toxicology

Harvard School of Public Health / John B. Little Center for Radiation Sciences

Several postdoctoral fellowship positions are available in the laboratory of Professor Kristopher A. Sarosiek in the JBL Center for Radiation Sciences (http://www.sarosieklab.org). We are seeking highly motivated scientists who are interested in the regulation of cell death, especially in human development and models of disease. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field. Independent funding is not a requirement, however successful candidates are expected to apply for individual research fellowships. Salary and fringe benefits commensurate with experience will be provided in compliance with approved NIH standards. Individuals with a strong record of productivity and training in molecular biology, biochemical techniques and cell-based assays are especially encouraged to apply.

Sarosiek Laboratory

The Sarosiek Laboratory seeks ambitious and hard-working applicants to conduct NIH-funded research in apoptosis (programmed cell death). We seek to understand how the regulation of apoptosis in healthy as well as diseased cells affects their sensitivity to damage or stress, especially genotoxic damage induced by radiation or chemotherapy. Furthermore, we plan to leverage this knowledge to improve patient care by predicting and preventing healthy tissue toxicity from environmental, medical and pathological factors. Our research utilizes in vitro and in vivo models of cancer as well as neurodegenerative diseases and biochemical, cellular and molecular biology techniques to identify critical factors regulating apoptosis and how they may be targeted therapeutically. More information is available at https://www.sarosieklab.org.

To apply, please submit the following materials:

  • A current CV
  • Contact information for 3 references
  • A cover letter describing your past research experience and future research goals

We value diversity in the workplace - women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.
