The Virta Medical Professional Corporation (P.C.) is the organization to which the Virta Medical Staff belongs and which is responsible for safety and medical care delivery at Virta. To complement the physician executives leading the Medical P.C. during this period of rapid growth and evolution, Virta requires a Practice Administrator with management, analytical, and executive experience. This “dyad model”, combining clinical and executive skills, will be essential to guiding the growth of a high quality, effective, cost efficient, diverse, and regulatory compliant care delivery organization. The Practice Administrator will be integral to ensuring the Virta Medical P.C.’s status as a top-tier, nationwide virtual care delivery organization.
This is a REMOTE role.
Responsibilities
NOTE: All of these responsibilities are to be conducted in a partnership relationship with the VP, Clinical Care
- ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AND EVOLUTION:
- Optimize the Medical P.C. 's organizational structure to support rapid growth, ensure oversight both of clinical and non-clinical roles, and drive accountability for all clinical and support staff.
- COMPLIANCE:
- In coordination with the Virta Health Corp legal team and Support Operations, ensure that the Virta Medical P.C. and its constituent clinicians are compliant with Federal and state laws and regulations (e.g., state-by-state licensing and practice of medicine requirements, corporate practice of medicine restrictions, physician oversight of mid-level practitioners, prescribing, fee-for-service coding and billing)
- STAFFING:
- Drive the Medical P.C.’s staffing strategy, utilizing models that forecast state-by-state demand for Virta clinical services and ensure cost-efficient growth of our medical and support staff
- CREDENTIALING/LICENSING:
- In collaboration with Support Operations, implement policies, procedures, and systems that support the timely and cost-efficient credentialing of clinicians by health plans/public payers and the granting/renewing of clinician licenses by state agencies. Evaluate and capitalize upon opportunities to automate and in-source internal and outsourced functions
- EFFICIENCY/PRODUCTIVITY:
- Develop and maintain metrics and reporting systems to drive accountability and facilitate improvements in clinical productivity. Work closely with clinical staff to identify product improvements and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency of our care paradigm
- QUALITY OF CARE:
- Develop and maintain the metrics and reporting systems of Virta’s clinical quality infrastructure
- COMPENSATION/INCENTIVES:
- Develop and implement compensation and incentive schemes that promote performance improvement of the clinicians
- LEGAL/GOVERNANCE:
- In coordination with the Virta Health Corp legal team and Support Operations, clarify and evolve the Health Corp - Medical PC relationship
- RECRUITING/HIRING/ONBOARDING:
- Develop policies and procedures for finding and integrating new clinicians; ensure alignment with Virta Health Corp’s Diversity and Inclusion policies
- CLINICIAN ENGAGEMENT:
- Develop and implement strategies to promote engagement and loyalty of clinicians in the PC
- BUDGETING:
- Support the Virta Health Corp budgeting process and ensure levels of expense for the Virta Medical PC that ensure safety and quality and eliminate waste
- DATA ANALYSIS:
- Regularly perform data analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Virta’s Clinical Delivery System and partner cross-functionally to drive ongoing improvement
- MEETINGS:
- Attend weekly medical staff meetings and synthesize, distill, and drive action from the discussions and ideas shared
Must-Haves
- Master’s Degree or equivalent
- 10+ years of healthcare experience
- Preferably, experience in both the provider and payer domains
- Leadership experience, preferably both in a line capacity and a staff/consulting capacity
- Excellent skills in data manipulation, analysis, and presentation
- Strategic thinker with strong tactical execution
- Preferably, experience in a start-up or early stage organization
- Passion for Virta’s mission and its diverse patient population

As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. Virta has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
