Prep Cook/Dishwasher Job at Cotton Holdings, Inc
This is an On Call position. Opportunity to work 40 plus hours weekly (overtime paid) as needed. Travel required.

I. Summary (Scope of the Job)
Cotton is searching for experienced, reliable and high-volume adaptable Utility/Prep Cooks for hitch/rotation work. In addition, the Utility/Kitchen Helper will have general housekeeping duties to include cleaning bathrooms and toilets, buffing floors, disposing of garbage any duties as assigned by the manager that can be performed safely. The Ideal candidate will have 1-3 years’ commercial kitchen experience, able to manage their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced customer focused environment. II. Major Responsibilities
- Assist cook with food preparation and serving as well as properly storing foods and protecting foods from contaminants
- Prepare and sustain constant supply of fresh coffee and other items
- Unload and store groceries and supplies; Rotate groceries and supplies, especially perishables
- Clean and sanitize galley equipment, dishes, utensils and refuse containers
- Clean and maintain orderliness of galley, walk-in freezer, pantries and storage areas and other areas for which Cotton Catering employees are responsible, including regular cleaning of bathrooms, sweeping, mopping, stripping and waxing floors regularly
- Attend safety meetings, inspections, fire drills, and other meetings as required
- Demonstrate your skills and duties to new employees
III. Background Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Any additional culinary training and/or certifications is a plus
Experience:
- 1-3 years’ commercial kitchen experience
- Portioning and Controls
- Commercial kitchen familiarity
- Microsoft Office skills
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
- Good communication skills, Reading, writing and math and organizational skills
- Ability to follow specific instructions independently
- Self-motivated / self-starter
- Must be able to work in extreme heat / cold & lift to 75lbs occasionally
- Able to stand and move throughout office/buildings and continuously perform essential job functions for periods up to 12 hours; Able to climb in and out of food trailers
- Ability to be flexible in schedule to meet operational needs. This may require occasionally working outside regularly schedule hours
