About the Role:

Grow.com is a business intelligence (BI) platform for SMBs. Our goal is to make it easy and affordable to visualize and share business performance in real time. We get constant customer feedback like, "We thought we were hunting for something that didn't exist, until we found Grow." Grow is focusing heavily on Engineering and we're looking for intelligent, driven people who will join us in making a difference for our customers. This Principal Database Engineer role will be responsible for hundreds (eventually thousands), of secure high performance databases. Primarily PostgreSQL, this role may be required at times to work with all SQL databases, MSSQL in particular. This role will work closely with the DevOps, Infrastructure and Development teams to optimize application database interactions to provide highest possible performance while maintaining best practice security. As a small product within Epicor, this role will at times need to branch out and assist our customer support teams with customer account database performance issues-providing problem identification and query tuning.

What You’ll Do:

• Take the lead on database management, security, optimization and monitoring
• Generalist Database Engineer. Startup minded, willing to expand efforts outside of core competencies, learn new things and contribute as needed.
• Design and develop database code and where necessary, application code specific to database interaction
• Documentation. Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with markup languages

What You Need to Succeed:

• Experience driving highest possible performance between application and database interaction
• DBA. Best practice configuration, backups, clustering.
• Monitoring database events and continuously optimizing system performance through troubleshooting and tuning
• Design and develop proactive tools and measures to optimize performance and take our platform to the next level of scale
• Designing and developing database code as needed
• Investigating and resolving potential problems and issues raised by customer support on behalf of customers
• Passion for web-based and mobile technology and knowledge of industry structure and trends,
• 5/+ years track record in developing innovative strategies that produce exceptional results

Salary Range: $70,000 - 180,000
