Position Description

The Process Improvement Engineer will direct a wide variety of manufacturing engineer functions to include project management, overall development of process flow, evaluate priorities for focused improvement and provide projects for management of 5-year plan.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of facility and equipment
• Work closely with members of management to improve and standardize current processes.
• Investigate and troubleshoot process problems as they occur and suggest necessary corrective actions
• Identify and recommend ways to reduce cost, improve quality and decrease manufacturing times
• Develops process training programs and materials; assist in training staff for full implementation
• Asset Utilization and Continuous Improvement
• Manage and/or be a key contributor on special projects and capital projects as assigned
• Provide support in New Technology and Capitol Project Development
• Additional responsibilities as directed by management

Ideal Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relative work experience
• 2 – 5 years’ experience with a preference to candidates with food and beverage experience
• 2 – 5 years’ experience in manufacturing functions to include process improvement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in challenging situations while continuing to fill core responsibilities
• Ability to work well independent with little to no supervision
• AutoCAD skills are required

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has minimal to no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands, walk, sit, stand, crouch, reach with hands and arms or kneel. Employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 30-50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. or as agreed upon. Flexibility is required for this position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.
