The general responsibilities for the Unit Operator will include performing daily inspection of showers, emergency eyewash, and alarm system of each loading spot at the truck rack. Checks the bills for the day. Verifies trailer dates, type of trailer, placards numbers with loading instructions to ensure accurate placement of car by driver.

  • Inspects valves for closure and caps, check product tag, check trailer and tractor number, check hoses on trailers, check trailer for dents, cracks or structural damage, and tire inflation.
  • Monitors truck driver to insure he connects ground cable to carry off static electricity.
  • Monitor truck driver to insure he wears proper personal protective equipment. Obtains truck key from driver. This will be done by driver bringing keys to control room per SOP 30N300.01A. or 30N300.01
  • Monitor process for leaks, and ensures that the loading of the product follows normal procedures as required.
  • Supplies truck rack with sample bottles. Brings samples from loaded trucks to the lab.
  • Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per job task specification or specified plant location.
