The primary function of the Senior Procurement Agent is to drive the procurement of materials and supply items for the operations and work with vendors to secure the best possible terms and pricing.
The Senior Procurement Agent will work on multiple projects of various size, complexity, and duration at the same time. This team member should have an adaptable approach dependent on the assigned work, and a desire to join a collaborative organization driven by continuous improvement and innovation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Senior Procurement Agent will work on multiple projects of various size, complexity, and duration at the same time. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepare requests for quotes on all raw materials and parts.
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain optimal pricing and terms on materials and services.
- Identify alternate vendors and coordinate material substitution when issues arise.
- Source and qualify new and advanced materials as requested by Procurement/Manufacturing
- Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
- Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
- Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Expedites delivery of goods to facility.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 4+ years of previous experience in procurement.
- Manufacturing experience desired.
- Proficiency in ERP systems desired.
- Familiar CAD drawings, blueprints, and equivalent fabrication drawings a plus.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to adapt quickly and seamlessly to accommodate to a variety of situations and needs.
- Must be available outside of normal business hours to ensure materials are delivered as scheduled.
- Strong reporting, organization, and problem-solving skills with experience in driving accountability.
- Proven ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
- Advanced skills within Microsoft Office applications.
