Product Manager, Sales - Schaumburg, IL Job at Convergint Technologies LLC
Convergint is looking for a full-time, results-driven, and innovative Global Product Manager to join our IT Product Management team. In this role, you own the roadmap of features and capabilities for our sales tools including sales pipeline tracking, project and service quoting, and sales commissions. You will collaborate closely with a diverse and distributed team across the business and globe, including sales executives and business development managers, account managers, IT business analysts, software developers, testers, and other functions to help understand the challenges and opportunities for our business and help drive the next generation of our applications.

What You’ll Do
- Own the roadmap of new features and improvements for Convergint's global sales productivity tools including opportunity tracking, quoting, and sales commissions
- Continuously analyze user and customer workflows to identify efficiency and improvement opportunities, feature needs, and enhancements
- Survey competitors and the competitive product landscape to identify best-in-class capabilities and ways to differentiate Convergint's applications and exceed competitors’ capabilities
- Assess existing and future acquisitions for best practices and needs in sales-related areas, including opportunity tracking, quoting, and sales commissions
- Understand and contribute to the development of Convergint's business strategy and roadmap for new customer offerings and solutions to anticipate sales product needs
- Work with business leadership to identify the business value and development costs of changes and translate this information into a prioritized, integrated roadmap including new features, bug fixes, technical/architectural improvements, and experience improvements (including build versus buy recommendations where applicable)
- Communicate the product roadmap and business impact (i.e., cost versus benefit) to business stakeholders and leaders
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, designers, and developers to convert the roadmap into an actionable execution plan
- Lead across products and business units to help ensure smooth execution and timely, high-quality delivery of products
- Partner with the change management, sales, global account, and field operations teams to drive the global adoption of our sales products, including adoption by existing and new acquisitions
- Define and monitor usage KPIs/metrics and user feedback to continuously drive user experience improvements, adoption, and business value
What You’ll Need
- Firsthand experience working on or with sales teams and tools
- Experience understanding market needs, product priorities, and ecosystem capabilities
- Analytical problem-solving skills, ability to simplify complex problems, and ability to prioritize based on trade-offs
- Ability to drive roadmap and projects autonomously
- Aptitude for monitoring and managing risks and shifting priorities that can occur in an evolving environment
- Empathy and affinity toward customers/users and commitment to understanding their challenges
- Understanding of agile methodology and working with engineering teams to deliver products
- Ability to identify and decompose customer problems, use cases and business needs into actionable stories and track them to delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to both internal and external audiences
- Comfort working with global stakeholders and global delivery teams
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional teams via diplomacy and tact
- Natural tendency to be positive, creative, curious and learn quickly

Requirements:
*Must reside within 1 hour from Schaumburg, IL office.*
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum Experience:
- 3+ years product management, product development, or other demonstrable experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Preferred Experience (but not required):
- Experience in services or systems integration such as: electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare systems
- Experience implementing CRM, CPQ solutions, and similar sales solutions
- Experience working on multi-phase global implementations
- Profession certification in technical, software, or digital product management
