We are looking for:
Mission: The Production Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and support to ensure that currently defined processes meet or exceed the work cell’s target in terms of SHE, quality, productivity, and cost. Lead incremental improvements initiatives to optimize existing processes through Productivity Area Improvement Team.
We count on you for:
Day To Day Operations
- Works with the whole work cell to monitor, reinforce and communicate all customer issues, quality escapes and other systemic quality issues. Leads Quality Area Improvement team for the work cell.
- Documents and tracks non-conformances for incoming materials, internal departments, and customers.
- Analyzes quality issues and develops corrective actions; including customer notifications, rework, waste and other costs of quality contributors.
- Owner of quality documentation pertaining to the work cell such as specifications, inspection documents, testing requirements, sampling plans, LIMs configuration and methods.
- Monitors product quality performance through SPC and CPK analysis of critical raw material and product parameters.
- Represents the company to customers during communications/visits with the responsibility to ensure/display preventive systems in place for the customer's product.
Training
- Coaches/Instructs employees in quality assurance principles and methodology. Ensure operators are adequately trained to undertake the quality standards in accordance with customer and or quality system requirements.
- Teach workout lite process through Area Improvement Team activities.
- Accountable for work cell Internal Audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and drive continuous improvements.
- Support plant Quality team in preparation for and conduct of external audits.
- Maintains quality process stability to ensure favorable customer ratings, confidence and future sales.
- Lead and facilitate the Quality Area Improvement Team in continuous improvement activities through the use of lean and various engagement tools, including kaizen, workout, 6S and applicable problem-solving methodology tools.
- Intervene and take appropriate actions on any non-conformance, possible non-conformance, or concerns affecting 1) compliance with any known legal, regulatory or company requirement, 2) Safety, Health, Environment & Security (HSE&S) policies, procedures, or other management system requirements, and/or 3) expectations or needs of other interested parties, and communicate it using the appropriate company process.
- Ensure the HSE&S, Responsible Care management Systems requirements are integrated into their organization’s business structure and processes and achieve intended outcomes.
- Promote an observable culture of process safety, product safety/stewardship and customer service within their organizational control.
- When requested, participate in the development, communication, and implementation of HSE&S and Responsible Care programs.
- Communicate and follow up as required on any HSE&S concerns, incidents, near misses, or opportunities for improvement using the appropriate company process.
- When requested, lead, participate and/or provide resources for Employee Safety Committee (ASC), Safety Meetings, Incident/Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, Management of Change (MOC), Process Safety Startup Review (PSSR), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and other related HSE&S, process safety, and customer service activities.
- Minimum a bachelor's Degree of Science in Chemical, Mechanical or similar.
- Previous experience in quality/process engineering function in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical background.
- Continuous improvement background, including kaizen leadership and change management.
- Demonstrated experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and communicate effectively with all levels.
- Understanding manufacturing processes and value chain, key operational metrics and communicating across the organization to achieve clear alignment and focus.
- Understanding of quality systems, ISO9001/AS9100 requirements and processes to engage cross-functional teams to solve quality problems.
- Performance and results orientation.
- Data-driven, strong analytical/statistical skill set.
- Passion for right first time quality.
- Integrity and courage of conviction to maintain quality standards.
