Summary:

This position assists the department supervisor in directing and leading the day-to-day assignments, plans & coordinates personnel and workloads to meet the schedule and goals of an area in the production department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Coordinates with the supervisor the daily objectives and assesses personnel, equipment and material needs.
• Coordinates GPS and testing requirements of parts and work orders.
• Capable of performing all jobs in the work area and relieves operators at workstations for breaks, training, etc.
• Assists in reviewing/training any new/existing team member on improved equipment and processes as well as safety awareness.
• Forwards materials to shipping physically and in Visual.
• Moves and transports material where needed in B-3 or outside of B-3.
• Stages materials for the next shift’s production schedule.
• Audits tags & work order documentation by verifying issues, receipts and transfers of materials to and from B-3 inventory within Visual.
• Communicates equipment problems to maintenance personnel and communicates schedule/goal constraints to the shift supervisor or department manager.
• Keeps work area clean.
• Reviews with supervisors the physical inventory of slices, blocks, and consumable items (paint, glue, staples, etc.).
• Monitors safety and corporate personnel policies and procedures to assigned staff.
• Trains Saw Operators, records data, sets up, operates, adjusts and performs minor maintenance on Saw machines, and adheres to GWI process procedures.
• Must be available to work any shift, and overtime.
• Assigned as a Quality Delegate to inspect in-process and final WIP in lieu of QA.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Sufficient English Skills – must be able to read and understand all company documents
• Five years of related experience and or training as a Saw Operator/Material Handler preferred
• Audiometry test (Hearing Conservation Program)
• Forklift Certification Required with valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
• A minimum composite score of 265 on the Wonderlic Basic Math Skill Test is required
