Summary
Safely and efficiently, operate a variety of processing and packaging equipment involved in the preparation of liquid and dry blend products. To include but not limited to such activities as weighing, combining and mixing materials, monitoring and manipulating materials at various stages of processing; filling various sized containers; and preparing product for shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Production Functions and Responsibilities
- Working safely and following all safety rules.
- Following all formulating as specified.
- Read and understand Manufacturing Process Sheet or Sheets (Blend Sheet).
- Fill out all production paper work accurately and on time.
- Assemble raw materials by product name and Lot No. as described on Work Order.
- Weigh raw materials or ingredients accurately as instructed by the amounts directed on the Work Order.
- Mix according to directions by procedure, lab or Supervisor and take sample of finished batch to supervisor in a timely manner.
Packing Functions and Responsibilities
- Working safely and following all safety rules.
- Package and label product in proper container according to procedure and directions.
- Weigh all finished material accurately.
- Palletize or stack finished product according to procedure, directions or supervisor’s direction.
- Inform Supervisor, Lab and Shipping department when it is ready for shipment
- Fill out all packing paper work accurately and on time.
Other Responsibilities
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communication in a manner that promotes cooperation with other co-workers and management.
Reports to workstation at the scheduled time as instructed by supervisor or management.
Manually handling (lifting and /or stacking) bags, pails, lids, skids, barrels and boxes as directed by supervisor or management.
Maintaining clean work areas including sweeping, mopping, organizing, cleaning pails and keeping floor clean in various areas as directed by supervisor or management.
Clean and sanitize area and equipment to make suitable for manufacture of next batch. All production and packing equipment must be cleaned and organized before shifts end.
- Operating various pieces of warehouse material handling equipment.
- Completing all paperwork neatly and correctly and on time (end of shift).
- Taking proper care of equipment used while performing job.
- Cooperating with supervision, co-workers and management.
- Performing other duties as instructed by supervisor or management.
- Provide primary backup of Shipping.
- Advise supervisor or management when leaving work area or building.
- Able to work flexible hours to accommodate customer’s needs.
- Willing and able to work overtime when needed.
- Performs sanitization duties as instructed by supervisor or management.
- Performs material and packing inventory when instructed by supervisor or management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Must be able to follow precise instructions and observe good manufacturing practices. Previous mixing experience in food manufacturing (2 to 3 yrs).
Must be familiar with or able to learn metric system, which is used in the manufacture of Vitamin products.
Must be able to read and write English.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must very frequently lift and/or move 25 KG; 1-5 KG repetitively. Must have the ability to safely handle warehouse equipment and production equipment and stamina and endurance to perform physical functions of job throughout the day.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is at times exposed to dusty conditions.
- The employee is at times exposed to oils and liquids.
- The employee is at times exposed to high noise environments.
Work Rules
Employees will receive the following work breaks:
- Two fifteen minute breaks in an eight-hour day.
- One half hour break in an eight-hour day.
The supervisor or management will advise employees when to take their breaks and lunch.
