Job Description/Role/Responsibilities

Packer – Production

1.0 Job Duties and Responsibilities

· The purpose of this position is to properly pack the salads/parfaits/fruit cups/other into boxes or RPC for shipment to end customer.

· Salads are packed into a box holding 6 trays, 2 layers of 3.

· Parfaits cup, first build the insert and place inside the box. Parfaits are packed into a box holding 6 cups. Fruit cup is packed into a box holding 4 cups.

· Will work under direct supervision of the Team Leader.

· Applies basic knowledge of simple machinery. Employee executes tasks by hand, and may perform basic tasks involving equipment.

· Performs duties and tasks routinely.

· Maintains cleanliness of work area.

· Follows rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality.

· Maintains and establishes effective working relationships.

· Effectively deal with and drive change.

· Ability to organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines.

· The ability to learn and apply new technology, with the willingness to share knowledge with others.

· Fill out and accurately record quality and production paperwork.

· Understand Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and Safety Procedures.

· Pack items following a specific set of instructions.

· Check to ensure containers are damage free.

· Check to ensure labels and codes are correct.

· Remove defective products, placing them on a container or in specified areas such as loading docks.

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

· Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

· Must be willing to perform different tasks or multiple tasks throughout the shift as assigned by the team leader or supervisor.

2.0 Education/Experience

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.

· Must have 3 to 6 months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3.0 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Language Skills - Must be able to speak, read and write in English, bi-lingual a plus. Must have the ability to read and interpretive instructions and fill forms.

· Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtracts, multiplies, and divides, using whole numbers and decimals.

· Reasoning Ability - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral.

4.0 Physical Requirements

· Must be able to stand for entire shift at the production line or processing station.

· Must be able to walk, kneel, bend and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

· Employee must submit pre-employment drug test and employment history check.

5.0 Equipment/Software Used

· Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook a plus.

· Electric Pallet Jacks

· Would need to be trained in the safe operation and correct function of all production equipment.

6.0 Work Environment

· Full time position

· Must be willing to work in refrigerated environment – Cold/Wet 38°F

· Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled or needed.

· Must work in a professional and courteous manor with subordinates and peers.

· Open to work in a diverse work environment.

NOTE: This job position reflects management’s assignment of essential functions. It does not however restrict any other tasks that may be assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
