What you do:
The
Production Scheduler is responsible for overseeing the efficiency of production scheduling and disbursement of finished production as it pertains to assigned business unit(s) and/or product line(s). The objective is to achieve best total value for the business, including management strategies and execution by performing the following:
- Assist with the implementation of consistent planning, forecasting, scheduling, and resource management processes to meet varying project sizes, scope, and needs.
- Responsible for timely production and distribution of periodic capacity reporting as defined by senior management. This includes but is not limited to reports on usage, sales, trends, and inventory/product status.
- Responsible for proper maintenance of ERP system.
- Exercise independent and professional judgment in dealing with team members to solve scheduling constraints/problems and coordinating issues as it relates to the company business plan, cost, and capacity.
- Participate in project planning when/where directed and schedule/attend daily/weekly review meetings.
- Analyze schedule process and performance and identify any developing problems.
- Identify process, performance, productivity, scheduling principles and other possible improvements and work with the appropriate resources within the organization to plan and implement changes.
- Confer with business unit and senior management to define schedule requirements, identify overdue demand and/or time-sensitive production needs.
- Work with Materials and/or Consumption Coordinator to manage and direct material use based on disposition status or shelf life using FEFO (First Expired First Out) approach.
- Provide support for Quality and Research and Development (R&D).
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years’ applied experience in capacity scheduling material management or inventory control.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office
- Good interpersonal and negotiations skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Prior experience working in food manufacturing environment a plus.
- Experienced with computer driven purchasing systems, preferably MRP/ERP, a plus.
