**1ST, 2ND, & 3RD SHIFT OPENINGS**

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the supervision of shift operations to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operations of a flexographic print environment. The incumbent in this position will oversee operations to ensure production goals are met daily. The incumbent will also be responsible for anticipating and taking proactive measures to resolve operational concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily activities of team members including mentoring, counseling and corrective action processes.
  • Monitor attendance records, vacation schedules, and annual performance evaluations for each employee.
  • Participate in recruiting activities for open roles including interviewing, providing feedback on candidates, onboarding, etc.
  • Act as a team role model and change-agent. Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
  • Must be familiar with equipment and operating procedures in order to make educated judgment decisions and recognize defective equipment or substandard product and utilize appropriate resources to resolve.
  • Working with appropriate resources, plans, organizes and directs the activities of employees to ensure a continual flow of work and to achieve defined goals and objectives. Practices open communication and cooperation with other shifts and departments to promote maximum productivity. Ensures effective maintenance and operation of facilities and equipment.
  • Analyze and draw information for daily operational needs and improvement for the team. Provide prompt problem solving for key issues.
  • Plays a critical role in maintaining an ongoing flow of important information up and down the organization structure. Ensures employees understand operations and company goals and performance measures.
  • Assure accuracy of shift production reports and other batch documentation.
  • Communicate downtime issues to plant management and play a primary role in ongoing support and leadership of the cultural transformation.

Required:


  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience supervising in a manufacturing operation including safety, performance management, mentoring, training and development, timekeeping/payroll issues and mentoring, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, planning and coordination skills. Demonstrated ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions and take appropriate action.
  • Strong work ethic and high energy level.
  • Hands on technical/troubleshooting experience.
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of the technical aspects of the manufacturing process.

Preferred:

  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience is preferred.
  • Formal training and/or experience with continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
  • Experience with timekeeping and/or production control system
