JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the supervision of employees, processes, and procedures of the department and

is accountable for productivity, quality of product and/or service, employee safety, efficiency of operations, and

working environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Know and learn all jobs in the respective department.

· Participate in the interviewing of new hires or additions to the team.

· Provide training for new hires and additions, developing and utilizing a written training plan. Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.

· Monitor performance of new hires and additions and provide weekly performance feedback during training period and annual performance feedbacks. Keep management informed of progress and performance status. Provide documentation as required.

· Monitor team performance and give daily feedback of results. Provide feedback and/or additional training to individuals as required. Advise management of any performance issues as they develop. Provide documentation as required.

· Complete and post weekly, an efficient work schedule for the team.

· Monitor operating supplies required in department and notify purchasing of needs to prevent out of stocks from occurring.

· Assume ownership of all equipment in department. Communicate needs as appropriate to the team, maintenance, management, etc.

· Assist in setting team goals and long-term tracking of team performance.

· Coordinate sanitation and housekeeping duties in area of responsibility to ensure high standards.

· Evaluate current procedures and methods and make recommendations that would lead to improvements in safety, quality, cost control, efficiencies, housekeeping, sanitation, etc.

· Ensure regulatory compliance by enforcing all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and safety rules and procedures. Advise management of discrepancies and provide documentation as required.

· Attend company-sponsored training sessions to improve technical, people management, training, and communication skills.

· Provide back-up coverage for team members and other supervisors, as required.

· Lead team in the improvement of quality and efficiency through continual development of operations and techniques.

· Develop and maintain a strong teamwork environment.

· Perform other responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the company goal of providing our customers with cost-effective, super-premium products and outstanding service.

TRAINING

The Department/Shift Supervisor must be trained on the specific SOPs and training material within approximately 10-12 weeks from the start date in the position. Four to six weeks of on-the-job training to obtain job's base skill level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Bending, twisting, working in confined spaces

· Work in wet, warm environments

· Exposure to chemicals

· Some heavy lifting

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education: Must have a High School Diploma.

Experience: 1-year supervisory experience preferred.

Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Franklin Foods standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,719.00 - $82,373.43 per year
