Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contacts patients/clients regarding classes and group activities. Schedules participation and provides follow-up contact.
  • Prepares area and materials for education classes, groups, and agency events.
  • Assists educators, contractors, and specialists with class and group facilitation.
  • Meets and greets patients/clients, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
  • Maintains the program area calendar (electronic).
  • Establishes, organizes, and maintains program files, records, and data using manual and electronic systems.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient/client information at all times.
  • Prepares and processes forms and documents.
  • Drafts and finalizes correspondence and spreadsheets.
  • Maintains equipment and inventory.
  • Orders supplies and materials.
  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls.
  • Runs errands to meet program needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities Required

  • Working knowledge of standard office procedures and processes.
  • Proficient use of office equipment such as PC, laptop, tablet, fax machine, scanner, and associated software applications.
  • Type 45-words per minute.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Works well with others.
  • Able to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Associate degree in office administration or related field; or high school diploma with four years of relevant
  • Experience: Two or more years of clerical experience and two or more years of experience using web-based applications, word processing
  • Certifications and Other Requirements: Current TB clearance (2 step), COVID-19 vaccination, HIPAA Compliance Training, Bloodborne Pathogens Training, CPR/AED/First Aid Training. Must have personal reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiar with HMONO's mission, programs, and services.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Native Hawaiian culture, traditions, history, and current events including, but not limited to State and Federally-funded programs and Keep abreast of Native Hawaiian issues and current events.
