Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) Bridge Academy (BA) provides IT skills training for people with disabilities. It helps students prepare to earn a Cisco Certified Technician credential with courses delivered through the Cisco Networking Academy and the training staff of BDI. This credential can help people get started in IT as onsite support technicians, field support technicians, or remote network support. BA program will be delivered across 20 weeks utilizing a hybrid delivery model; 4 days of virtual & 1 day of in-person training at BDI’s Upper Westside Atlanta facility. The curriculum will include work readiness training, internship opportunity, and extensive employment support.

PURPOSE

  • The Program Manager (PM) will manage the launch of the BDI Bridge Academy (BDIBA) and will oversee the day-to-day operation of the program. This 20-week program prepares participants with disabilities to successfully obtain the CISCO Certified Technician credential and to obtain employment in the Information Technology workforce. The program delivery model will utilize 4 days of virtual/remote learning and 1 day of hands-on/lab activity per week at BDI’s Westside Atlanta Campus.
  • The PM BDIBA is responsible for the successful preparation and implementation of student cohorts. Functional areas of responsibility include: Planning, Student Recruitment & Application Process, Guidance Counseling, Program Marketing, Scheduling, and Faculty Management.
  • The PM BDIBA will engage with corporations in support of student job placement and ongoing support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Faculty Management

  • Oversee management of planning documentation for cohort development and build delivery schedule and associated resource requirements.
  • Host programmatic awareness meetings for internal stakeholders.
  • Supervise technical faculty and coordinate functional support of job readiness trainers, job coaches, and mentors.
  • Manage access to required virtual platforms and learning management systems.
  • Achieve cohort headcount and attrition metrics.

Program Marketing, Student Recruitment & Application Process

  • PM will serve as the primary public program representative and will grow community awareness by delivering in-person information sessions and career fairs across the Metro Atlanta region.
  • Utilize appropriate social media outlets to generate program awareness and interest.
  • Build lasting community relationships and develop student pipelines for the disability community.
  • Review and screen each application, validate required documentation, manage applicant data, interview qualified applicants, and deliver status updates to applicants.

Guidance Counseling

  • Conduct weekly check-ins with students and provide coaching as required; track credential exam progress and facilitate accommodation requests as needed.
  • Collaborate with faculty to facilitate appropriate levels of student support.
  • Manage student progress and retention reports.
  • PM BDIBA will be visible and accessible to student cohorts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education & Training, Communication, Information Technology, or Marketing, and 3 years of Program/Project Management experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in, Business Administration or Education & Training, and 5 years of successful Program Management experience (Learning or Workforce Development background is a plus). Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification is also a plus.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must accomplish a background check. Upon hire, must obtain CPR/AED/First Aid Certification.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications & data management software applications.

  • Yes, program instructor and teaching assistant. Will provide functional oversight of Job Readiness Trainer, Job Coaches, and Mentors.

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but may vary. (37.5 hrs per week)
