Signal Energy Constructors is seeking a Project Control Manager for our Solar Project Solutions department. This position reports to the Chattanooga, Tennessee office with the ability to work remotely from a mutually acceptable location. The Project Control Manager is an integral member of the project team working closely with the VP of Project Solutions and Project Teams in the overall management of construction projects of varying size.
Position Description
The Project Control Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Project Controls functions in support of the operational business unit(s). Responsibilities extend to the management of all project controls personnel as well as the implementation and execution of all project controls activities. These activities include, but are not limited to, project planning, scheduling, budgeting, progress reporting, cost control analysis, forecasting, contingency management and reporting for all projects within the respective business unit(s). The PCM is also responsible for implementing the tools, processes and procedures as outlined and defined by Corporate Management, along with the VP of Project Solutions.
Essential Functions

  • Responsible to manage the development and implementation of effective Project Controls capabilities supporting a portfolio of projects through execution, including, developing and executing the plan for scheduling, cost engineering, metrics, reporting, workload resource planning, risk management, change management, and contingency management
  • Coordinate project planning and develop/maintain project schedules, status reports, project budgets/costs, progress, invoicing, accruals, and other related activities associated with monthly project financial reporting.
  • Support proposal schedule formulation in coordination with the Pre-Construction group and scheduling team during the bidding stage of a project.
  • Report project progress to Project Teams and provide visibility to critical deliverables through weekly meetings
  • Review and Analyze contractor’s schedule submissions while incorporation into the master project schedule
  • Manage changes to the schedule and keep Project Teams abreast of activity and/or date variances
  • Ensure project controls talent is sufficient on each project to ensure successful implementation of the Project Controls Plan
  • Knowledge share with other leaders across the business to benchmark, identify, and implement innovation opportunities in project controls
  • Travel up to 25% of the time

Knowledge/ Experience

  • Strong understanding of the full life cycle of EPC Construction
  • Experience with Vista/Viewpoint and Procore software
  • Experience on large programs valued in excess of $100,000,000
  • Electrical Utilities, Solar and Power Distribution experience
  • Experience with Acumen Fuse
  • Advanced understanding of the EPC lifecycle and application, including flow, inputs and outputs
  • Comprehensive understanding of solar projects and ability to interact productively with key members of a project team with diverse backgrounds
  • In depth understanding of CPM scheduling and Earned Value Management

Required Education/ Experience

  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Construction Management
  • Ten (10) + years of related professional experience
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and CPM Scheduling
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Project Accounting experience is a plus.
  • Certification from AACEi or PMI highly preferred
