Department Summary
The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering building development projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Coordinator is responsible for directing, organizing and controlling project activities. Project Coordinator is expected to interact with staff, faculty, students and residents and outside professionals with essential job functions. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of projects/programs aimed at achieving program/project goals and objectives.

Position Overview
The Osteopathic Research Center at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Project Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: * Manages research projects as a member of a research team involving both local and national research initiatives. * Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, human subject related activities, maintaining research files, providing input to research team members on human subjects, and other research project management issues. * Focuses on recruiting subjects for active and future projects. This will include traveling to various sites throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and enrolling subjects at remote sites. * Assists in the development of written materials to include research reports, poster presentations, and other materials requested by the center/department. * Participates in the recording and analysis of research data and in the production of publications and presentations related to the research projects as deemed appropriate. * Enrolls subjects, conducts informed consent, completes research study visits per protocol and interacts with study subjects as required, and works with laboratory personnel to ensure that biological samples are acquired and picked up in a timely manner. Helps maintain study documents and assists in preparation for audits. * Tracks and manages study databases. * In conjunction with the research assistant director and the principal investigator, helps prepare paperwork for the institutional review board and helps ensure all required project close out documents are obtained. * Communicate ideas for improving processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others. * Assists with grant applications, publications and recruitment of study subjects as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned. * This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Good communication skills (professionalism, empathy, interviewing)
  • Well organized and attention to details
  • Be self-motivated, flexible/adaptable, and can work independently
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines
  • Able to work with research tracking databases (Excel, REDCap)
  • Able to document research procedures
  • Able to assist in data management and quality control

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Strong attention to detail required. * Excellent communication skills required. * Ability to interact with people from a wide range of backgrounds. * Knowledge of human subject protection policies a plus. * Knowledge of biohazard materials handling a plus. * Research recruitment experience required. * Medical office experience preferred.
