Job Title: Estimator/ Project Manager II

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN

Terms: Full-Time Salaried Position

Salary Rate: $100,000 plus benefits, salary negotiable

About Us: PWS is an established and growing contracting company. We work with public and private companies to supply quality Utility, Earthwork, and Demolition work.

Job Summary: Prepares estimates of the cost of projects before the project begins. Manage through organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget.

List of Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
• Understand contract specifics, prepare submittals, and track approval in writing.
• Complete and track change orders with approval and in writing
• Identify opportunities, create advantages, and maximize bid profit
• Continuously track in-house production rates, analyze and apply to future estimates
• Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes, and addition to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Communicate effectively with Superintendents, management, clients, vendors, and partners
• Lead through coaching, mentoring, and team building among junior project management and estimating staff
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.
• Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
• Update job reports including work progress, costs, and scheduling updates.
• Proactively develop relationships within the contractor community and represent PWS at networking events.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
• Oversees the planning organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications, and budget
• Oversee the hiring and supervising of subcontractors and subordinate staff
• Oversee the performance of quantity takeoffs

Qualifications:

• College degree in construction, civil engineering, or a related discipline
• High level of verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in project planning, scheduling, and estimating
