Project Management Engineer Job at Tark Inc
JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects regarding the development of Tark Inc pump and heat transfer products and coordinating with all stakeholders/departments in the process. They will take the lead role in coordinating prototypes, product changes, test stands, tools, and assembles needed for launching new and improved products.
This role will improve and troubleshoot existing processes with released products as needed. They will provide technical support in the form of documentation, troubleshooting, and design reviews will also be conducted regularly. Beyond engineering, there is also a need to engage with customers and suppliers on a regular basis to understand the future needs of the industry and what Tark can and will provide to the market.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engineering project management and facilitation of new product/project launch process.
- Provide updates to management on a regular basis.
- Visit with customers to understand their current needs and to identify future products we can supply.
- Review products with suppliers to ensure they can produce the new product as well as evaluate their capabilities for future product developments.
- Coordinate with all internal departments to ensure projects are completed on time and at budget.
- Troubleshoot design issues as they arise for both prototype and released product.
- Provide general support for the design, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams in the form of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Research of various pump technologies, maintaining Tark as the subject matter experts in centrifugal technologies as well as broadening our expertise into other technologies.
- Develop team members.
- Coordinate the design and build of tooling, fixtures, test stands, etc.
- Lead stakeholder in new product roll out to manufacturing floor.
- Owner of root cause and investigations pertaining to design-related issues.
- Create and maintain process documentation supporting the build of prototypes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment including tools and assembly areas.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science, preferably with mechanical/manufacturing engineering focus with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Software including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office productivity tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Solidworks.
- New product development processes and techniques.
- Excellent project management skills, including establishing project budgets, budget tracking, etc. PMP certification is highly preferred.
- Experience with electrical motors and rotating equipment.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Depth of experience designing for various fabrication technologies; including but not limited to all welding disciplines, machining, laser cutting, sheet metal, etc.
- Pump design, Fluid system design, Heat transfer analysis Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling and analysis.
- Finite Element Analysis, Statistics, and statistical software: Minitab, JMP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, utilizing the latest technologies and methods.
- Aptitude with reading and creating mechanical prints.
- Mechanical aptitude with a desire for hands-on activities such as test setup, test execution, data collection, etc.
- Proficiency with basic measuring tools (Calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.).
- Experience with electro-mechanical process equipment, such as multimeters, power supplies, gauges, and various test equipment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Results-driven with a focus on quality and delivery.
- Up to 30% travel may be required.
