Summary

A successful candidate will work with the PI to manage tasks for one active NSF grant and three active NIH grants with multiple research studies at the intersection of accessibility and human-computer interaction. Duties include helping to plan and recruit for research studies, coordinating schedules for data collection and research-related meetings, helping to manage data from the different studies, working with research participants and other stakeholders, and writing project reports.

Responsibilities*

Required Qualifications*

  • At least one year experience working as part of a relevant research team

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Desired Qualifications*

  • Master’s degree in Information or a related field

  • Familiar with research on technology and marginalized populations

  • Experience working with Google Calendar and Google docs

  • Administrative skills like scheduling, prompt email communications, and monitoring and shifting priorities as needed

Work Schedule

20 hours per week; some flexibility in when those work hours occur as long as good communication and close coordination practices are in place. Must be present at required team and 1-1 meetings.

Work Locations

This position will have space at North Quad, 105. S. State Street, Ann Arbor, MI. Some hybrid remote work may be possible, in alignment with the UMSI remote work policy and with supervisor approval. May require occasional travel to various locations on and off campus.

Additional Information

This is a three-year term limited position.

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week. The pro-rated salary range for this part-time position is $36,000 -$37,500 based on work experience.

This position may work with and/or support systems that maintain or process sensitive institutional data as defined by university policy. Successful candidates must comply with federal, state, and local law, and/or university policies or agreements that require the university to implement specific privacy and security safeguards, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, HIPAA, FERPA, and FISMA. This position is responsible for protecting data and information from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion; and following applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files and release of data internally or externally to the University of Michigan.
