OVERVIEW:
The Project Manager position will directly support the John F. Kennedy Airport Redevelopment Program (JFKR), which is a historic plan to redevelop and transform JFK Airport into a modern 21st-century airport. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) is implementing this redevelopment program. This position is for a motivated and experienced individual to manage the Aviation Airside, Landside, and Utilities for the New Terminal 1 Development.
T-1 Project Manager Aviation Airside, Landside, Utilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Actively manage project scope, schedule, and budget. Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Perform technical discipline tasks including research, report design, specifications, and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
- Ability to prepare project scope and fee quotation and assist in the preparation of proposals and contracts as directed.
- Coordinate work efforts and review of work performed by project team. Collaborate with project team to meet overall project objectives.
- Coordinate across complex matrixed organization working with project staff from different departments, offices, and divisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 12 years relevant experience
- 4 years project management experience
- Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Demonstrated BIM/CAD abilities
- Expertise in the use of program information management systems and financial systems
- Construction experience in civil infrastructure projects
Primary Focus will include
- Oversight of procurement, design, and construction process by Terminal Developers in compliance with any law, regulations, code, guidance, requirements, program, policy, and Port Authority initiative.
- Ability to drive outcomes meeting complex and aggressive scope, schedule, budget constraints for major capital programs.
- Review and coordination of Contract document submittals.
- Schedule and Interface coordination with Infra Projects – Roadways, Utilities, Airfield Interfaces.
- Coordination with airport wide construction logistics teams and efforts.
- Coordination with Construction oversight teams and efforts for project delivery.
- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on project delivery, progress, and interdependencies.

- BS in Engineering or Architecture
- PE
- Aviation experience
- PANYNJ experience
