Summary

The Project Manager/Chief Engineer is responsible for supporting and supervising operation and maintenance tasks for mechanical systems, including but not limited to plumbing systems, electrical service, emergency management control systems, elevator systems, fire alarm and suppression systems, and facility mechanical systems including chillers, boilers and system controls. This position will also oversee the maintenance program, planning and design for the facility. Responsible for the operational management and effective daily leadership and administration of the engineering team with the objectives of safely, efficiently, and effectively operating machinery and systems in a cost-effective manner. The project Manager must have excellent team management skills and be able to successfully manage and coordinate with project leadership, operation and maintenance subcontractors, and facility staff. The project Manager must thoroughly understand mechanical systems operations and maintenance and must be capable of supervising all facility maintenance personnel. Ensures the highest level of professionalism, while meeting the customers’ needs. Responsible for protecting and improving the value of the customer’s assets and ensuring that building engineering systems continue to perform their intended function.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Possess at a minimum at least 5 years of recent (within the past 7 years) experience in the management and supervision of building mechanical maintenance operations for buildings of the approximate size and characteristics of the buildings to be covered by this contract.
  • A detailed description of the previous 7 years’ employment history of the proposed project manager
  • Possess a Project Management Professional or Project Management Certificate or Degree
  • Have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S Permanent Resident status required.
  • Valid current Driver’s License and proof of current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to local facilities.
  • Must have a solid knowledge of facility maintenance processes and practices.
  • Must have supervisory skills with the ability to direct the operations and staff
  • Strong knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Strong verbal, written, computer, communication and organization skills.
  • Must possess skills to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to read and interpret system and equipment plans, specifications, operating manuals.
  • Must be able to understand and operate machines and electronic and computer controls.
  • Have a Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, management, and others in a professional and timely manner.
  • Must have strong knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have the ability to manage time efficiently, work with multiple supervisor and managers, as well as maintain schedules.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within a team environment and outsourced support teams.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be capable of lifting to 50 pounds and can use a 26-foot ladder.
  • Must be able to pass required criminal background check and/or Govt. security clearance and pass pre- employment drug testing.
