This project manager role will act as a staff specialist in applying design/build techniques, advanced theories, concepts, and principles for an assigned area of responsibility in St. Louis, MO. The incumbent must be capable of analyzing all technical aspects of the subject area, defining the scope and selecting problems for investigation, developing novel concepts and approaches, and recommending significant changes.


JOB REQUIREMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • The incumbent has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering, architectural, or scientific assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect significant projects.
  • Have the ability to think outside the box to solve challenging, complex problems
  • Generally demands total supervision of staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of scheduling and project controls
  • Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an essential impact on extensive professional activities.
  • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with professionals and officials of other organizations and companies.
  • Provides technical direction to Engineers on large or complex projects.
  • Performs quality control reviews on large or complex projects.
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

QUALIFICATIONS


Preferred education/experience is a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in the area of civil, mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering; construction management; or equivalent from an accredited college or university; or five (5) plus years related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer proficiency is essential (experience using Microsoft Office, mainly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications. Must be organized and can achieve specified goals and objectives by adequately managing the efforts of subordinates and associated team members.
