The Opportunity

Sambatek is currently seeking a Project Manager to work with a team to execute transportation engineering projects. As a project manager you are responsible for leading a project team in the implementation of transportation project development and managing scope, schedule, and budget, as well as quality, risk, and resources. In addition, this person will support Sambatek growth into working with various counties within Minnesota. A Project Manager is also expected to support business development by contributing to pursuits, proposals, and nurture and expand their network to create opportunities. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person to help continue the expansion of our Transportation team.

Work Location: Hybrid, in-office as needed

Qualified candidate will:

• Manage transportation projects in study, preliminary design, and plan development phase
• Direct internal teams and coordinate with external teams and stakeholders to deliver quality work to key clients, predominately at the state and county levels
• Represent Sambatek at meetings with clients, counties, cities, and other key stakeholders
• Participate in quality review processes, track and mitigate risks, and coordinate resource allocation
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget
• Participate in business development and support pursuits and proposals
• Mentor associate project managers and design staff

Qualifications

• Driven to exceed expectations and win over clients
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• P.E. in Civil Engineering, 10+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in managing county transportation projects
• Effective written and verbal communication, independent judgment
• Excellent time management skills
• Preferred: Reputation and network, experience with MN counties
• Ability to direct diverse teams and empower individuals to succeed and grow
• Ability to manage multiple tasks on multiple projects keeping strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan months in advance and clear roadblocks to proactively guide projects to success
• Positive and solution-oriented approach to problems

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work is primarily performed in an office environment
• Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
