Project Manufacturing Engineer - Austin, TX


As a Manufacturing Engineer at Lutron, you will take ownership of high-stakes projects from day one. You will be a member of a cross-functional engineering team helping to conceptualize, design and develop innovative and intuititve products. As a key part of our manufacturing development team, you will grow your skills while developing innovative solutions for our production processes. Your contributions will help maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems. By working in a collaborative environment, you will be exposed to, and trained by, industry experts who will aid in your professional development.

Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Lutron, you will:

  • Work collaboratively to design products for high-volume manufacturability
  • Develop best-in-class processes to maintain our position as the leading manufacturer of smart lighting and shading solutions
  • Utilize Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) to analyze new products
  • Execute assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals
  • Create manufacturing and assembly tooling requirements
  • Support manufacturing from prototype builds through transfer to a long-term build facility
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and manufacturing of consumer products that will end up directly in the hands of our end users. You will be exposed to:

  • Collaborating with design engineering and manufacturing plants
  • Presenting quality data to key stakeholders
  • Implementing industry best practices for mid to high volume manufacturing of consumer products
  • Industry experts who will aid in your professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0 for each degree earned
  • 0-3 years’ experience in a related field
  • Willingness to travel up to 10 – 20% of the time
