Job Title: Psychiatrist (MD, DO)

Reports to: Medical Director and Executive Administrator

Supervisory Responsibility: No

Pay Scale: $240,000 to $300,000 (Base pay plus bonus)

SUMMARY

The Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy who is Board Certified in Psychiatry. This position will have an outpatient schedule to conduct Evaluation and Management visits. The Primary function of the Psychiatrist is to conduct a thorough E&M visit, accurately diagnose the patient, recommend an appropriate treatment plan, and document the encounter appropriately and to a level that allows for the proper billing of the encounter.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following.

• Maintain open schedule availability based on the employment contract
• Stay up to date on the latest diagnostic criteria as it pertains to their area of expertise
• Use appropriate DSM-5 criteria for diagnosing disorders
• Use appropriate diagnostic and prescribing guidelines from the AMA, APA, Redemption Psychiatry Medical Director or other approved source
• Work with the Nursing department and other staff to respond to patients’ requests in a timely manner
• Fill out required paperwork in accordance with Redemption Policies
• Maintain all licensure and continuing medical education as required by the relevant licensing board

Education and Certification

• Graduation from an accredited Medical School

• Completion of a recognized Psychiatric Residency program

• Current and unencumbered Arizona Medical License

• Current and unencumbered DEA license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Intermediate Computer skills are required as it pertains to electronic medical records, electronic prescribing, documentation in electronic format, and other forms of electronic communication

• Detailed knowledge of current accepted prescribing algorithms to avoid unnecessary cost to patients and/or delay in obtaining authorization

• Current prescribing requirement and regulations

• Current recommended treatment algorithms

• Ability to work in different office environments and with a diverse workforce

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Outpatient Office Environment, noise level is usually low to moderate
