Job Description
The Town of Falmouth is currently recruiting for a part-time (19 hours a week) Conservation Agent. This position is responsible for reviewing all hearing applications under Requests for Determination, making determinations, and reviewing Notices of Intent and administrative reviews. Schedules public hearings and prepares Public Hearing Notices. Verifies abutter lists with filings. Participates in weekly evening Commission meetings and makes public presentations. Review building permit applications. Assists the public with the filing process required by Wetlands Protection Act and the Falmouth Wetland Protection Bylaw and participates in land management activities including identifying priority conservation parcels and writing grant proposals. College degree in the natural sciences, land use management, or related field and one year experience in conservation activities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of Massachusetts Conservation Law and the Wetlands Protection Act, local wetlands bylaws, subdivision rules, and regulations. Working knowledge of botany and geology. Working knowledge of soil types and their functions and the ability to verify wetland boundaries. Ability to interpret regulations accurately and objectively. Ability to deal appropriately and tactfully with officials, the general public, representatives of applicants, and other governmental agencies. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.

Starting wage depending on experience: $26.85 - $29.04/hour. Preference Date: December 14, 2022.
