Position Purpose:

Perform tasks delegated and directly supervised by the Occupational and Physical Therapists or the Occupational and Physical Therapist Assistant. Perform routine cleaning and clerical tasks in Therapy Services. Apply treatment modalities, supervises exercise and follows the Department and Hospital policies and procedures.

Position Summary (not all inclusive)

• Administers all treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed Therapist.

• Assists with treatment in Physical and Occupational Therapy with transfer training, gait training, wheelchair mobility, and sitting/standing balance activities.

• Supervise patients who have been taught exercise programs under the direction of a licensed Therapist.

• Under supervision of therapist fits and adjusts walkers, canes, and crutches as needed.

• Demonstrates proper use of hydraulic lifts, bicycles, parallel bars, and exercise equipment.

• Performs safe execution of one, two, and three man transfers and demonstrate safe use of wheelchairs and stretchers.

• Take patients’ blood pressure (manually or mechanically), pulse, and respirations in a timely manner and charts appropriately

• Perform clerical duties including entering charges, filing, copying, and some data entry

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.
• Nurse Aide Certification and/or Previous Patient care experience preferred.
• BLS (CPR) Certified
• Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills required.
