Public Service Worker – Streets and Parks (Full Time)
The City of Powell, Ohio is accepting applications for a position in our Public Service Department. This is a full-time classified, bargaining unit position that requires semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair and construction work in a variety of areas including parks maintenance, public works, facilities, and equipment. This position works under the direction of the Director of Public Service. Prior parks and recreation or streets and utilities for a Public Works department preferred.
Qualifications for this position includes experience performing general maintenance, construction or repair work, mowing, basic mechanical know-how, and snow plowing. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Possession of or willingness to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license, State of Ohio (Class “B”) CDL with airbrake endorsement, and must have the ability to be insured by the City’s insurance and have the ability to drive at night.
The salary range for this position is $20.91 to $26.68 an hour and includes an attractive benefits package including paying into Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, vacation/personal time/sick leave, and health insurance effective day one of employment.
Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with occasional weekend hours and availability to work special events.
