JOB DESCRIPTION

Purchasing Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To (Title):
President of Operations
BASIC FUNCTION
Under broad oversight and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, this position requires a high-energy individual, degree of creativity, mechanical knowhow, and superior interpersonal skills. As a key member of the Medicraft production team will have the primary responsibility of purchasing and controlling materials for production use.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review control plans for proper, material size, type and quantity. Interact with Engineering and MFG as on needed bases.
- Monitor and adherence to purchasing budget plan submitted by upper management.
- Responsible for the purchase of all production related materials (Assembly components (balls, springs, pins, raw materials, etc.).
- Responsible for the purchase of all machine tooling (End mills, Drills, Reamers, cutters, special tolling, inserts, belts, wheels, etc....)
- Monitor & review all purchasing activities.
- Work with other departments to ensure that proper materials become available in a timely manner for production use.
- Purchasing related Freight logistics,
- ERP Part maintenance profiles for purchasing products (part numbers, preferred suppliers, standard price.
- Customer Service Impact related to material issues.
- Communicate Quality related issues related to suppliers to Quality Manager for proper disposition.
- Establish and adhere to "Best Price and Delivery" strategies as related to purchasing initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Trade school or college credits a plus.
Experience & Expertise:
- Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) .
- Experience in Purchasing a plus.
- Proficient in ERP system.
- Possess good written and oral communication skills; composing control plan engineering steps and other communications as required.
Physical Demands:
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Must keep working areas clean, organized and obey safety warnings.
- Must be mobile capable of communicating with customers and plant personnel at all levels.
- May involve some repetitive motions.
- May involve some repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling.
