The Purchasing Manager’s main responsibility is to oversee the ordering and receiving/distribution of all food, beverage and supplies for the Function and Beach Club departments. The Purchasing Manager will work closely with the heads of each department to ensure accurate and timely orders are placed. The Purchasing Manager will certify that the proper items are distributed around the property to allow for smooth and seamless operations of all events and club activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for a detail oriented individual who is able to work independently as well as manage a small team in the summer months. The ideal candidate enjoys being hands on and has prior experience as a manager or supervisor within a purchasing and receiving department at a resort or hotel.

Required Experience/Skills:

· 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience within a luxury / high-end hospitality environment preferred

· Priorexperience as a Purchasing/Receiving Manager or Supervisor required

· Proficient in Computer skills – Microsoft Office and Excel

· Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

· Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills

· Experience in a fast paced environment and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure while still being detail oriented, calm and personable

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Must be able to work in outdoor environments

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

· Valid US Drivers’ License required

Core Duties:

This is intended to represent the key duties for this position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Lead the overall operations of the property’s purchasing & receiving to ensure all departments have appropriate and timely resources to guarantee service for our guests

· Developpolicies and procedures to establish centralized purchasing & receiving functions

· Directall vendor delivery schedules while monitoring the quality of product received

· Initiatecross department movement of product and cost transfers

· Anticipatekey supplier risks that could impact purchasing availability or financial results

· Ensureproper general ledger coding of orders and submission of invoices to accounting

· Coordinateaccurate monthly inventory counts across the business, establishing par-levels

· Secure, compare, and present recommendations on multiple bids for services or products

· Partnerwith team members to provide guidance and insights around purchasing decisions in a seasonal operation

· Identifyopportunities to obtain products and services at a lower cost and/or higher quality

· Ensurethe timely receipt and delivery of packages for the office and guests

· Manage a small team of summer seasonal Receiving Assistants
