Position Overview
Teaching Strategies is the leader in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) sector, providing the most widely used developmental assessment and curriculum system in the US, serving children from birth through 3rd grade. We are looking for a QA Engineer to help expand digital curriculum, assessment, and family communications solutions to accelerate learning outcomes for all kinds of children, teachers, and programs.
As a key member of our technology team, you will be a champion of quality and always put the needs of the user first. Developing automated tests will be how you spend much of your time. You will also be involved with some manual testing when necessary to meet the team's goals. You will radiate information about the quality state of the product and continuously find ways to make it better. You will work closely with developers, product managers, operations engineers, and other QA heroes to deliver meaningful updates every sprint. We need someone who has a knack for breaking stuff, knows a lot about QA but is always ready to learn more, and has a bias for action.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
- Validates changes to product primarily by developing, executing, and maintaining automated tests
- Performs manual and automated regression testing to help certify releases
- Finds, isolates, documents, and tracks bugs through resolution
- Actively participates in grooming, planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and reviews
- Conducts performance testing to ensure system reliability, capacity and scalability
- Conducts accessibility testing to ensure the system works for everyone
- Verifies functionality via SQL queries and direct API calls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on web and/or mobile test automation experience
- Empathy, patience, rigor, grit and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Highly collaborative work style
- Creativity and initiative to succeed on ambiguous problems
- Experience with the following technologies is a plus:
- Selenium
- Cucumber
- Ruby
- Jmeter / Blazemeter
- Postman
- Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- TestRail
- Jenkins
- Keen interest in new technologies and languages and how to innovate with them
- Commitment to following security best practices
