Please note we have three software testing roles open - we ask that you only apply to one QA role, so review the distinction and choose the most appropriate.
QA Software Tester (Educators) - This role is for current and former teachers with exceptionally strong technical skills who want to break in to edtech at a high growth startup. No QA experience is expected, but you'll need to invest extra time to pick up the skills.
QA Software Tester (Experienced) - This is a more senior role only for experienced QA analysts and software testers with at least 2 years of full time professional testing experience.
QA Lead - This is a senior role managing the QA Team and requires at least 6 years of full time professional testing experience and strong experience designing testing plans and orchestrating testing at scale.
Role Description
- Collaborate with product and engineering team to verify product meets expected behavior as defined in product specification / requirements documents.
- Execute regression and smoke test plans, and provide feedback on test plans to improve and iterate on those plans
- Partner with customer facing teams to identify, investigate, and reproduce bugs, and provide engineering the information needed to fix.
- Collaborate with product team to define solutions to observed issues
Example Tasks
- Develop testing strategy including functional testing, smoke and regression suites
- Execute test strategies manually across multiple browsers and devices
- Communicate functionality defects, data inconsistency, and user experience improvements to product and engineering teams, primarily in the form of issues
- Collaborate on testing feedback and analyze potential gaps in test coverage
- Develop and execute test plans working in an Agile environment
- Collaborate with product management and other cross-functional teams to balance priorities, risk, and schedules
- Generate and maintain test data.
Qualifications
- Experience in a QA role [Required]
- Highly technically savvy with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience building and executing test plans, including click through testing, on a complex software product within an Agile environment
- Proven experience identifying, replicating, and communicating bugs to appropriate team, and collaborating on a resolution plan
- Skilled at working with product managers, developers, and other internal teams to refine requirements as needed
- Nice to have: Experience with engineering tools like Asana, Git, AWS
- Nice to have: Experience in education as a teacher, administrator, or nonprofit employee
Compensation
- Salary: $45,000 - $75,000
- Bonus: 0-10%
- Equity: 5,000 - 20,000 shares
