The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor will be working to maximize product quality and profits by optimizing production and grade standards to meet current market demands and customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform regular checks, test and inspect products at various stages of the production process to verify conformity to product specifications
- Responsible for monthly audit meetings with APA auditor to ensure our products meet all requirements for engineered wood products
- Maintains documentation on audit findings and follow up on corrective action plans and areas of nonconformance
- Review customer complaints, travel as necessary to construction sites to evaluate complaints and create corrective action plans and preventative measures to ensure deficiencies are corrected
- Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of product and issue reports to management, sales and accounting
- Work closely with management and other department supervisors to develop and achieve targets in safety, quality and cost; ensure standards are met and understood
- Assist with the regular monitoring and tracking of machine center performance
- Perform regular grade checks to improve grade accuracy and out-turn
- Use gauges and other devices to verify conformity to standards of product
- Enter data into database for recordkeeping
- Have knowledge or be prepared to obtain knowledge of MSR process
Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in quality control and employee supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent people and team building skills
- College degree or courses in related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Strong computer skills
