Quality Audit & Sanitation Lead Job at Trilliant Food
The Quality Audit & Sanitation Lead is responsible for managing the overall Quality Systems audits, which include sanitation of the facility and 3rd party warehouses. This position assures the facility and warehouses have well-trained, efficient, and accountable processes to support and meet SQF and Sanitation standards. This person directs and leads shift activities through planning and communication with associates to ensure all quality and sanitation objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-effective, and safe manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must have a general understanding of Food Plant operations. This includes but is not limited to scheduling, managing sanitary operations, clean-up procedures, waste disposal, pest control, sanitation chemicals, knowledge of GMP’s, Environmental Monitoring program, familiarity with Allergens, and conduct internal quality system evaluations to lead the internal audit team based upon Quality Assurance Standards.
- Facilitate Internal Quality System evaluations and lead Internal Audit Teams, including but not limited to Monthly Management Review, Annual HACCP reviews, Food Defense Meetings, Master Sanitation List, and SQF systems for compliance, accuracy, and completion.
- Manage instances of non-conforming ingredients, food contact packaging, work in process, finished goods, or equipment detected during receipt, storage, processing, handling, or delivery and facilitates corrective and preventive actions in response to these instances.
- Participate in mock recalls to verify the effectiveness of the product trace system.
- Manage equipment calibration program and facilitate associated corrective and preventive actions.
- Review daily pre-operational inspections and swabbing results, maintain documentation and corrective action measures pertaining to any failures.
- Develop and maintain Quality Manual documentation, SOPs, and SSOPs for all functions, equipment, and areas of the plant.
- Maintain records and documentation of: Sanitation department training, pest control, Internal Audit, Pre-operational inspections, ATP results, Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP), sanitation chemical titrations, daily sanitation operation sheets, master sanitation schedule, and others as required.
- Coordinate and administer training on an on-going basis to ensure compliance and completeness.
- Enforce all safety practices as directed by regulatory and company policies for equipment, sanitation, product safety and personal safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science, operations, business, management, or related area of study is preferred.
- 3+ years of managerial experience including hiring, employee development, performance coaching, and day-to-day supervision of multiple lines in an operation environment.
- Knowledge of food packaging principles, food industry quality and food safety requirements, ingredient performance and interactions with equipment, statistical process control, critical control points and new product scale up dynamics.
- Working knowledge of SQF.
- Understanding of sanitation systems, techniques, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and work well at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting and judgment skills.

- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and related production and product information systems.

- Must be willing to be a hands-on performer and spend significant time on the plant production floor and provide coverage and support across shifts as needed.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the shift. The employees must frequently lift and/or move items up to and including fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
