It is the responsibility of the Quality Control Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Department at two manufacturing facilities
- Directs the work of inspectors involved in evaluating incoming materials and products and product during manufacturing and final inspection.
- Prioritize and assign daily workloads for Quality Inspectors
- Resolve quality problems when identified
- Works with purchasing in evaluating vendors to compliance to quality standards
- Train employees in SOP’s and ensure training effectiveness in application of job skills
- Evaluate employees through performance reviews, ongoing coaching and feedback methods
- Monitors QC final acceptance, Product Hold and implements changes to improve operating efficiency.
- Continuously improve performance based on the key performance indicators
- Develops, justifies and implements manufacturing QA process improvements
- Schedules inspectors work hours
- Attend daily meetings with other departments to discuss on-time delivery, lead times, quality issues and non-conforming product
- Responsible to coordinate the disposition of nonconforming material
- Tracks and provides status of product within the Quality Control Group daily
- Assist internal and external customers with paperwork, correspondences and quality concerns
- Assist in investigations of nonconforming product
- Train and assist employees in the use of test and inspection equipment
- Reviews completed Inspection reports
- Other duties requested by Quality Manager
- Demonstrated expertise working within a highly professional, driven medical device organization.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing change within an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to solicit the cooperation of others and positively influence the efforts and dynamics of work teams.
- Must be able to manage employees and have excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Ability to perform inspections using tape measurers, Lasermics, Instron, gage pins hand tools and leak detectors etc...
- Attention to detail is crucial in this position
- Able to work closely with all departments
- Able to handle multiple work assignments
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or Associate degree
- 5+ years in a Management/Supervisory position
- CQT, CQE, Lean Manufacturing or Green Belt Certification/s

Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Minitab, QAD, Fidelity HR Access

Strong knowledge of working within the parameters of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485
