Position: Quality Control Technician II

Position Reports to: Director of Safety, Quality & Compliance

Supervises: N/A

Experience: Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management or quality assurance, preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with construction, manufacturing and/or experience in the homebuilding industry.

Location: Pueblo, CO

Career Level: Technician - Manufacturing

Salary: $50K -$55K (DOE)Exempt

Primary Operational Objectives: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for coordinating and conducting quality control activities in the plant.?Monitoring operations to ensure production standards are met. Recommending adjustments to assembly or production process.

Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates with engineering, and manufacturing personnel to effectively resolve problems related to product design, materials, specifications and/or manufacturing operations.
  • Ensures all quality control policies, procedures, directives, and systems are in compliance with company and/or applicable federal regulations, continually strives to increase the level of quality assurance within the facility.
  • Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed in accordance with guidelines established by the Company in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Inspects incoming materials by confirming product meets specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; documenting, communication of rejected and returning unacceptable
  • Works closely with supervisor and the associates and provides guidance as needed
  • Communicates with Production and QC Managers of any violations of the quality process
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming product meets applicable drawings and specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; documenting and communicating required corrections
  • Inspects finished products by confirming product meets drawings and specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; documenting and communicating required corrections and ensuring defective product is not delivered to the customer
  • Keeps inspection and measurement equipment operating by following operating and calibration instructions; and notifying management when repairs are necessary
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Document’s inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and company mission by completing related results as needed.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience in quality control inspection in a fabrication/manufacturing environment
  • Experience at reading and interpreting schematics
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications
  • Building code knowledge, ability to gain an understanding of the construction manuals, standards, and specifications regarding the products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail with the task at hand
  • Demonstrated record of self-motivation and being able to work in a team environment that is fast paced
  • Time management skills to ensure we stay on task to meet goals
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization as well as with trade partners and building departments
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual Spanish Highly Desired, but not mandatory
  • Must be able to pass a drug test

Work Environment: Manufacturing and office environment. Moderate to loud noise level. Proper PPE required.

Must be able to stand for periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, squat, turn body and walk. Required to lift to 50 lbs.
