Position Purpose:

To serve in a hands-on general quality assurance / inspection role and be broadly responsible to assure and maintain quality standards throughout the entire manufacturing process to help the company achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure quality parts are produced throughout the process. Identifies and reports on defects and poor workmanship trends identified at inspection points.

• Assures quality of incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

• Assures quality of in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production leaders.

• Performs production, rework, first article assembly and documentation as required.

• Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work; ensuring work documentation is complete.

• Initiating deviations, NCRs and rework forms and making sure these documents are filled out and filed correctly.

• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.

• Training others to current IPC standards.

• Provide feedback, assist in analyzing data of the quality information recorded and provide suggestions for resolution of quality issues.

• Assist in conducting internal quality audits and other related activities to maintain or improve the quality management system.

• Find new and better ways of doing things; to improve operations, methods and procedures; propose significant and constructive ideas for innovation.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in training; educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

• Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary.

Qualifications & Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Experience and competency in electronic circuit manufacturing are strongly preferred.

• Certified to IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, or IPC-A-610.

• Communicate and work effectively with individuals and teams, at all levels of the organization.

• Strong verbal communication and writing skills.

• Proactive, self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong hand-eye coordination, vision and manual dexterity to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

• Ability to read, interpret and follow work/test instructions, drawings, prints, etc.

• Inspecting products under a microscope.

• Experience with computers and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and ERP systems.

• Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
