QUALITY INSPECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY: Inspects a variety of parts and assemblies, utilizing blueprints, specifications, formulas, and a large variety of precision instruments to determine compliance to specification.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Read blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information, such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.

· Measure dimensions, such as length, height, distance between reference points, utilizing equipment such as micrometers, gage pins, gage blocks, calipers, dial indicators, snap gages, comparators, and toolmakers microscopes, to ensure the product meets specifications.

· Fixture and run part routines on vision inspection systems.

· Locate reference points on parts and measure dimensions such as angles, arcs, radii, using combination of aids, such as surface plates, parallel bars, angle plates, gage blocks, V-blocks, and other precision measuring instruments.

· Analyze problems by comparing parts with blueprints and previously run parts or specifications to assist in troubleshooting with other departments.

· Devise and coordinate sorting activities when needed.

· Verify raw materials for correctness using part drawings and available documentation.

· Review and complete required paperwork for processing of parts.

· Assist and verify production’s methods and results for part inspection.

· Perform first piece layout inspections.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years of related work experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is required to:

-Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.

-Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or

-Exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

LICENSES REQUIRED: None

VISUAL PERCEPTION: Ability to read computer screens, equipment displays, blueprints, precision measuring instruments & equipment, and written documentation.

HEARING ABILITY: Ability to monitor equipment sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee is subject to:

-High noise levels from operating machines

-Physical hazards from moving equipment & machine parts

-Breathing fumes, dust and mist

-Skin exposure to oils, cutting fluids, & cleaning agents

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
