Work Now Staffing is looking to hire Quality Inspector Lead for our client in Bridgeview.

Shift: 2nd - 8:00am – 4:30pm

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Details:

• ** MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK BOTH ENGLISH & SPANISH**
• Leading a team of 8-10 associates
• Will convert to a Union worker when hired and will have to pass background check, drug screen, and everify
• Schedules, coordinates and assigns work to Finishing and Inspection Department personnel based upon production established by the Delivery Schedule.
• May change or adjust work assignments in response to instructions or priority situations
• Checks and monitors work of inspectors and finishers to ensure that finished products conform to prescribed quality standards for QS9000
• Directs personnel to perform 100% inspection if parts fail to meet AQL standards
• Responsible for achieving prescribed standards of product quality
• Exercises initiative to identify and prevent potential causes of quality problems
• Advises Shift Molding Supervisor of quality problems
• May exercise discretion to suspend production on a machine in the absence of the Shift Molding Supervisor and pending a final decision by management
• Coordinates timely receipt of material into department through frequent verbal communication with Shift Molding Supervisor, utility worker, or other persons responsible for movement of material and product within the plant
• Advises Shipping/Receiving Supervisor when parts are ready for shipment
• Requests machine setup assistance from Toolroom Supervisor when drilling, punching, or grinding operations are required for finishing the product
• Trains, instructs and orientates employees to Company procedures, machine operations, and quality standards
• May perform inspection or operate machines for finishing operations on a temporary basis to instruct personnel or perform emergency work
• Maintains a harmonious working relationship within the department and between inspection and production departments
• Enforces Company and safety rules through discussions or disciplinary warnings as necessary
• Considers employee grievances within limits specified by the union agreement and resolves matters at the departmental level whenever possible
• May recommend suspension or discharge subject to approval of management
• Instructs and checks to ensure that workers are following safe operating procedures and maintaining a neat and orderly work area
• Periodically inspects work area and directs personnel to correct any unsafe conditions
• Maintains, stores, and issues inspection gauges and fixtures
• Responsible to assure that inspection tools are maintained in good working order
• Advises management when necessary to schedule repair or replacement of inspection tools
• Maintains records and files as needed to record quality levels and productivity of department employees
• Reviews production start up sheet, scrap card and related documents prepared by personnel
• Advises management when expendable supplies reach reorder point
• Authorizes overtime subject to direction from management; may exercise discretion to authorize limited emergency overtime work
• May recommend changes to methods or procedures or suggest purchase of new tools or equipment for review by management in order to improve product quality or quality department operations
• Attends seminars or courses and reviews trade publications to keep abreast of new technology and management techniques
• Performs other duties as assigned
