SUMMARY
Perform visual and layout inspection. Testing and inspection of products will be performed at various stages of production process in compliance with applicable codes, standards, or other specified requirements. Places safety and environmental issues as a priority at all times. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understand, comply and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Responsible for following housekeeping and 5-S initiatives in the quality department.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning manufacturing quality problems.
- Shall have a practical knowledge of assembly and fabrication production processes.
- Demonstrable skills using various hand gages including, steel tapes, steel rulers, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Understand English and Metric measurement schemes.
- Shall have the skills and knowledge to establish techniques; to interpret codes, standards, and specifications.
- Candidate should be knowledgeable with applicable industry standards specifications and procedures.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and confers with management regarding part conformance.
- Selects products for evaluation at specific stages in the production process for a variety of qualities including dimensions, performance, and mechanical characteristics.
- Record test data.
- Evaluate data and writes inspection reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Shall be qualified to interpret codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Prefer experience with MS Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Working knowledge of assembly, metal fabrication, and construction techniques.
- 5 years of progressive project experience in assembly and/or steel fabrication.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
- Communicate using proper verbal and written skills.
- Ability to receive government clearance is not required.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Shall have sufficient education, training, and experience to ensure understanding of the principles and procedures of inspection.
- College level work leading to an Associate Degree in a related discipline plus three (3) year related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, or
- A four (4) year college graduation plus three (3) years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities preferred.
- Must have VT Level 2 and MT Level 2 certifications.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Work towards, take the CWI exam for certification and pass.
