QUALITY MANAGER Job at Nelson Numeric, Inc.
Nelson Numeric, Inc. is a premier machining supplier to the aerospace industry working with exotic metals. Do to recent promotion we are seeking a Quality Manager who will continue to lead the quality department to meet customer requirements.
Summary: To direct and coordinate all aspects of the Quality Assurance function, including short and long term quality and business planning. Additionally, to act as the Management Representative with regard to the AS9100 based quality system, and to serve as a liaison between management, and employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the quality staff to ensure the meeting or exceeding of quality specifications and standards of IATF
- Establish and implement quality procedures and specifications, testing procedures, and standards for raw materials and for in process and finished products
- Overseeing established calibration and testing program
- Audit quality systems, initiating corrective action as required
- Develop training for and train employees on quality related practices and system requirements
- Produce quality reports; analyze information, and address and resolve problem areas
- Provide technical assistance to customers, vendors, and other departments of the company
- Resolve any quality issues including addressing nonconformities from previous internal and external audits, determine corrective action and assign corrective action reports (CAR) as necessary
- Conduct management review of the quality system and prepare organization for AS9100 audits
Required Skill, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in quality engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field or work experience
- Previous Experience in Quality Management in a job shop, aerospace environment
- Previous experience working with and compliance of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management and ITAR
- Must have thorough knowledge of various customer aerospace quality standards to interpret and extract requirements as they apply.
- Strong knowledge/understanding of Six Sigma and/or LEAN training preferred, experience in Root Cause, 8D, 5- Whys, and/or other quality management problem solving techniques
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and suppliers.
