We have an opportunity for a Chemist to join our Quality Services (QS) team in the Finished Product Lab working 1st shift.
Wed - Sun 1st shift 7:00am - 3:30pm

What you will do:
Major Responsibilities will include:
- Adhering to all GMP and safety precautions as outlined by the Kao Cincinnati Plant Leadership via written procedures and safety standards (i.e. SDS).
- Ensuring the lab is audit-ready and practicing good housekeeping.
- Audit production lines throughout the shift to ensure compliance
- Test bulk batch samples per specification and review associated documentation for completion and GDP.
- Inspect packaging materials against specifications & disposition for use in production.
- Complete testing in a GMP-compliant environment per internal methods.
- Record testing results in notebooks and SAP-QM.
- Comply with all established good documentation practices.
- Document and investigate OOS results to identify any laboratory error.
- Documenting non-conforming results and reporting them to the QS Leaders and other key customers.
- Dispositioning bulk and packaging materials for use in production.
- Maintaining packaging and finished product standards for use in testing.
- Ensuring laboratory instruments are maintained and checked/calibrated per requirements.
- Supporting the ongoing need to keep Cincinnati Plant procedures current & compliant.
- Supporting the initiatives of key manufacturing and quality personnel, such as testing product for process improvements.
Minor Responsibilities will include:
- Completed microbial testing set-ups for finished products, as needed.
- Support Raw Material sampling using aseptic techniques, as needed.
- Writing, editing, and reviewing SOPs and other technical documents.
- Training and mentoring technicians on testing techniques.
What you will need:
- This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in chemistry, biology or microbiology (other majors will be considered with relevant exprience).
- 5+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in a cGMP regulated environment .
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires the ability to remain flexible and organized in an environment of shifting priorities, work independently and be a self-starter, and problem-solve.
- Experience with pH, density, viscosity, color, and odor.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Technical writing and SAP experience are a plus.
- An internal odor test must be passed
- Individual must be willing to work OT on weekends to support production.
