HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) is seeking a Quality Technician to join our team in Pompano Beach, FL. HCA is an industry-leading manufacturer of high-tech, reciprocating compressor valves and components used across the energy industry.

The Quality Technician is responsible for day-to-day tasks that further support the organization’s goal to reduce non-conforming outputs. He or she can support prevention by helping new employees with quality checks or ensuring CMM programs are up to date. He or she will also evaluate identified root cause of non-conformance in order to suggest a comprehensive corrective action.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and comprehend basic inspection equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Hardness Testers, Profilometers, Optical comparators, Coordinate Measuring Machine Basics, etc.
• Ability to check part to the blueprint to ensure conformity, as well as notice other defects not defined (damages, material impurities, etc).
• Document and report all known non-conforming products. Act as MRB for internal non-conformances.
• Support production with root cause analysis and corrective action and/or support other projects to further reduce non-conformance.
• Proactively check stock based on feedback from customers – move inventory as needed and a make final disposition.
• Own the customer return process from transacting returned parts back into stock to determining root cause and corrective actions to address the non-conformance.
• Support with training for all new employees covering ISO standards, basic blueprint reading, how to use measuring tools, etc.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years relevant experience in quality
• Five years manufacturing experience preferred
• Requires ability to stand, walk, hear, speak, view processes and surrounding environment throughout 8-hour shift, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
