R&D Chemist Job at Contec Inc.

Overview: This position is a member of the R&D team and will work to support all Contec business units in the
development and continued improvement of disinfectants and cleaning products. The R&D Chemist is responsible for testing, modifying, and evaluating disinfecting chemistries to support Contec’s business units. They will be responsible for providing guidance on testing, formulations, and analytical analysis to provide guidance for business decisions.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepares experiments and performs routine laboratory testing on various types of laboratory equipment in the research environment and analytical laboratory.
  • Responsible for the formulation, evaluation and implementation of new products based on differentiated technologies
  • Develops and works on formulation concepts of new or acquired chemistry focused on disinfectants
  • Designs, develops, and carries out test plans for assigned projects
  • Develops knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards as applicable to the market/product line.
  • Creates specifications and control limits for critical to quality parameters
  • Interprets experimental data to peers and project teams in written reports and oral presentations
  • Helps with test method development and validation of lab equipment, including preparing and testing samples for Gage R&R studies.
  • Assists in scale up of disinfectants and cleaning products internally or with 3rd party
  • Ensures the use of proper ISO document procedures.
  • Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
  • Others may be assigned.
