Job Title: R&D Designer Engineer I Department: R&D

Reports to: Effective Date: 11.2022

Job Summary:

The R&D Technician I is responsible for assisting the R&D team in troubleshooting, implementation, and documentation of new and existing products.

Accountabilities:

R&D

  • Assist in the implementation and documentation of new products
  • Assist R&D team with product improvement logistics

CAD Drawing/Testing

  • Use CAD to draw complex parts
  • Assist with vehicle and calibration test documentation
  • End product testing, troubleshooting and in-depth reporting

Documentation

  • Document systems, processes, and calibrations
  • Maintain and record revisions to products and calibrations
  • Document product sourcing, technical details, dimensioning etc.
  • Documentation of 2D & 3D drawings

Collaboration/Customer Service

  • Collaborate with internal purchasing department for part sourcing and part servicing from external vendors.
  • Collaborate with internal shipping, assemblers, and sales to deliver products as needed and on time.

Knowledge

  • Continuously build knowledge of customer components, usages, and needs.
  • Recommends improvements to department processes and procedures that will increase customer satisfaction, save time and/or save cost.
  • Assembling product and teaching others proper techniques

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously, and outline process improvements.
  • Strong computer knowledge specifically CAD
  • Proficiency with Fusion 360, MS Office, specifically Teams and Excel documents
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and maintain a professional approach when dealing with external and internal customers.
  • The ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is a plus.
  • Ability to operate a 3D printer and perform maintenance when needed

Education/Experience:

  • BS degree in Design or Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanically inclined
  • 2 years’ experience in side by side and/or snowmobile industry a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
