R&D Manager
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a strong passion for food and innovation.
- Develop and create new plant-based meat alternative products for both mainstream and ethnic market.
- Lead new product development and existing product improvement projects, which including ingredients sourcing / evaluation, recipe development and tasting event.
- Complete food ingredients costing for the products developed.
- Demonstrates expertise in running line trials and working with plant personnel, Operations and QA during the commercialization process.
- Nutritional analysis / calculation and ingredient list development using Axxya program.
- Develop and refine specification for new and existing products.
- Work along-side multiple departments with all aspects of product roll-out, including BOM, SOP and initial production run.
- Maintains a high level of knowledge base regarding market trends and new ingredient opportunities through attending industry seminars, continuing education, trade shows, industry periodicals, and professional technical/culinary associations.
- Identifying strategic initiatives, opportunities and threats with respect to vegan protein products and new product development
- Maintain product yields data base and production recipes, ensure all changes are tracked accordingly
- Develop and maintain strong effective relationships with supplier and customer technical, sales and marketing teams to ensure expectations are communicated clearly
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in food science, food engineering, or related field of study. Culinary education preferred
- 3 to 5 years of working as an industrial food developer is required. Additional culinary development experience preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills will be required to work with internal and external contacts
- Strong understanding of ingredient functionality, food safety and regulatory affairs
- Travel, up to 25% of the time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday

Experience:
- industrial food developer: 3 years (Required)
- Culinary: 1 year (Preferred)
- FDA regulations: 1 year (Preferred)
